I was able to squeeze in a quick getaway to northeastern Wisconsin and take in the last days of fall. While the temperature and wind made it feel more like early winter (complete with patches of snow scattered about), there were still vestiges of autumn color, especially in the tamarack bogs. These two images were taken just minutes apart from each other – do you prefer one composition over the other? Why?
I like the second picture, because I like the dark green backdrop of the pines in the background. Also I like the complete picture look. The first one seems cut off. Although I do appreciate it. Susan
Thanks for your comment Susan – I also prefer the second image because it feels more “balanced” – the largest of the tamaracks on the right side serves as a counter to the blue, riffled water on the left and together they help frame the composition as a whole.
